There are similarities between these two articles because both are analyzing boys and girls and their differences. They both break down how a child’s gender can have a greater effect on their eating habits. In both articles it seems as if girls are more prone to eating disorders and their negative effects. Girls in this article showed signs of eating disturbances at the age of 12. Agreeing with the first article early adolescence have evaluated the possible contribution of puberty, depression, self-esteem, and body image. Girls in this article are also suggested in have a depressive effect on the development of eating disorders. All of this information ranges all the way up to children ages 18. In this article it states that no studies of eating disorders in early adolescent males exist.
Both articles compare male and female adolescence and the effects of eating disorders. There were a lot of similarities regarding how the problem of eating disorders arise. In the second article it did not go in depth about males, but I believe this is because of the year this article was released. There was not enough information about this subject at this time. All in all, both articles discuss eating disorders and its effects on
