Easton Mako Research Paper

Ever since 2014, Easton has been improving and improving this Little League baseball bat called the Easton Mako. Kids that play the sport of baseball wonder how this bat hits way farther than different bats, like wood bats. The question is, how do these bats do that? A Mako is a powerful high tech bat that is still used in travel ball leagues to this day. Kids in the Little League World Series, that happens every year, use these Makos (usually the newest version). The first piece of evidence is that Makos are hollow so there’s more pop, which means it hits harder and farther. Being close to the handle means it has a bigger barrel, closer to the handle, so it gives you a better chance for you to hit the ball better. Wood bats’ center of mass is closer to the top of the bat, and has a fairly small barrel. The center of a bats’ mass is also normally known as the barrel of the bat.
The third piece of evidence is that Mako’s have a faster batted ball speed. Having a faster batted ball speed, like a Mako, is very good because it can carry a ball way farther, and especially, hit way harder. Batted ball speed means how fast the ball comes off the bat.
The fourth piece of evidence is that Mako’s are made of composite technology which is called ‘Thermo Composite Technology’. This gives the bats lots of pop, and the increasing speed of the batted ball speed of 3.85 mph more than wood bats. The importance of this composite material is that it uses a carbon fiber polymer and a strong graphite wall in the inside so it is packed with power.
