Easter Egg Hunt Research Paper

Forty days after lent that day of the year arrived. Dying eggs, hours spent at church, and the sight of the beloved yet, creepy, Easter bunny. I found myself unwilling to get up for church that Easter Sunday knowing that soon after I would have to endure the horrible Easter egg hunt. As far back as I can recall I have been apart of the Easter egg hunt at my Grandmother Karll's house. Each of the twenty-five grandchildren fought for the chance to discover the golden egg. This unique egg contained ten dollars. At that point in my twelve years of life the ten bucks would have technically made me a millionaire. Church, as usual, kept my attention with the harmonious hymns and intricate wall designs. Two hours passed until we were released from …show more content…
Suddenly the low, soothing voice of my grandpa bellowed through the two story home. “Kids, time for the hunt!”, he grumbled out. Small feet pattered towards the front door signaling the dreaded beginning to a long competition. Never once had I found the golden egg, but this I decided, was my year to shine. Each cousin was paired with another in an effort to keep us all occupied. My four year old cousin, June, grabbed my arm. She had the spunk of a young puppy and the ambition like that of Martin Luther king. June and I were known for our similar personalities. For nearly twenty more minutes I guided June to the hot tub, the tire swing attached to an itchy yellow rope, and lastly by the rusty swing set which

Spanish Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church 1. What happened during the services? I arrived at the church a few minutes prior to the service and I was greatly surprised by how well attended the service was. There were dozens of families in a spectrum of Sunday best and work-stained denim jeans and nearly every person wore a yellow and white vest with a red cross embroidered on the lapel. At the entrance there was a small dipping well and although there was no water in it at the moment, (most likely due to the sizeable crowd) people still placed their fingers in the dry well and crossed themselves before entering the chapel and before sitting, they would cross themselves again.…

Before going into our scavenger hunt, I thought that communicating with people without speech would not be a hard task; however, after approaching our first destination, I quickly realized that this scavenger hunt would be more challenging than I originally thought. Every person that we tried to communicate with seemed very confused and gave us funny facial expressions. My group signed to each other, and the people that we were trying to communicate with were definitely wondering what was happening. Each person continued to talk to us, even though we were not talking back to them. They pointed at objects and wrote some information down for us, but they still spoke as if we could understand what they were saying.…
