This semester we were assigned to write in a journal, or notebook regularly. We were suggested to write easch day, a piece that made us feel something. I took this opportunity to not only write daily, but express my thoughts, ideas, opinions, and feelings. I used the book somewhat like an over glorified diary. Each day I would write, or scribble at times, everything and anything that was going on in my life. I wrote two entries on good days encompassing my life in detail. Somehow I ended up using two journals by the end of the semester. The introduction of the utilization of these notebooks has changed my life in more ways than any educational device in the past. I ended up treating this …show more content…
What I brought to the counter was a small wooden sculpture that had a turtle's body and a dragon's head with gleaming red crytal eyes. On our ride home I thought of what it could mean and decided to do a little research. I really loved reading that memory back after placing the ink to paper so many months ago. One of the beautiful aspects of writing in this notebook each day is the ability to go back and read or relive the experience through my very own words. I then can reflect and see the memory once again. Not only did I take the book on exciting excursions, but I brought it to places that seemed to make me

Writing journal entries helped me connect the past with the present and I was able to take the extra step to make every thought meaningful. Among having so much work to do and being busy every second along with constant anxiety and stress, I do not have time to stop and think. These journal entries help me think and debrief myself and I think the entries definitely benefited in class discussions. When we do not do journal entries before discussing I have noticed that our conversations are less thought out and are answers are not profound. When we do our journal entries are conversations have tended to be continuous and open.…

Throughout the first semester of College Composition, I wrestled with three essays, all differing in format and content. The first was a narrative that reflected our educational experience. After this came an analysis of a visual text, followed by a research paper. The narrative was the easiest to write; however, I acquired important skills for writing the other two, which were in a less familiar format. With the three essays, I learned about my own writing skills and habits concerning development and critical thinking, time management, and organization.…

I have learned that it is very important to be aware of my strengths and weaknesses in my writing. Taking this class has helped me understand the strengths and weaknesses in my writing skills, and it has given me the opportunity to strengthen the areas in which I was weak. An example of this is that I have become aware of my grammar and spelling errors as the semester progressed.…
