Have you ever heard of the famous NBA player, Magic Johnson? He had a very success career back in the day. He was born on August 14, 1949, is now currently a retired. He played point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers for over ten seasons. He also won MVP in the NBA finals on his rookie year. He was also one of the top 50 best players in history. With all these great accomplishments, it goes without saying that he is very success. Not only is he successful, but he is wealthy. His network is about 500 million dollars. You would think that with all this wealth that he can afford to be in good health. In 1991, Magic announced he was diagnosed with HIV. It was full of boring out of date facts that were irrelevant to us now. I believe it centered to the foolish society that are trying to become rich by treating themselves better. I love the fact that in the end, it show people working together to help improve the community, but the concept alone seems pointless to me. I do not agree with what the documentary taught us. It is strategically counterpointed at a battle between the rich and the poor. In every scenario, it shows the rich beating us. For example, poor smokers were at a higher level of catching disease than the rich. Also poor Americans die on averaged almost six years faster than the rich. It also tell us that education is wealth, but what but celebrities who didn’t get an education? High school drop outs like Russel Simmons seem to be fine without education. Their wealth continues to grow as you read. Also, Oprah Winfrey dropped out of college and she is one of the wealthiest people in the world. I just disagree with the fact they believe that health, wealth, and education all have some special connection. I think that wealth and health are connected, but education isn’t so much. I believe that they are all equally important for success, but you could do without one of them if you had too. Education is need, but it isn’t a necessity to become wealthy and healthy. I also agreed when it said that about people living in poverty for unlucky …show more content…
It is literally a lottery to how many people become rich. We all didn’t chose a poor life. There were reasons why we developed into this life. One reason could be because of our heredity. Back in the day in London, if your dad was poor than no matter how smart you are, you would be poor just like him. . The documentary said that “we carry our history in our bodies.” In many viewpoints, it is true. Our past history does seem to reoccur into our future. Let’s say this guy had diabetes, and his dad did as well. He had a son and soon later his son got diabetes. This means that you can escape your past. For many of us, we were born into poverty stricken homes and could get a better life. Back in my hometown, we are over 75% in poverty. There are barely a few of us survive. We are not all living homeless, but many of us are in debt. We have a few homeless people, but not a huge epidemic. Rich in my hometown is just still having your house. There are no BMW everywhere you go. It is just a dimple town all in poverty just trying to make it. Another reason for people being poor, is due to lack of education. In the film, wealth is defined by the more education one has, not the dictionary definition saying that wealth is defined as having a great deal of money, resources or assets. It says we need to invest in a better education. Many high school dropouts don’t usually become millionaire because they lack the knowledge to perform well in society to

How is it that in a society with such wealth, there is such grave poverty? If you were wondering which society the question was referring to, Panem or the U.S., this draws a great point on the status of our own economic system. In the Hunger Games, the stark difference between the poor and the wealthy, along with how the economics of Panem operate, creates a great divide between the Capitol and the districts; through ethical analysis, we will examine the divide and what it is included. Using Immanuel Kant’s ethics, we see that everything the Capitol does to the districts is wrong, and provides a small piece of the wedge between the districts and the Capitol. Going by Kant…
