Introduction

While Earth and Mars share similarities, these two planets possess distinct differences. The objective of this article will be to elaborate upon those planetary differentials that exist between such specific domains. Mars does maintain aspects that strike comparisons to those of Earth, though poses equal distinction in its galactic contrasts. This article shall reveal the ideal atmospheric condition of Earth as well as towards its sustaining a total environment for complete cycles of life and its relevant forms with respective functionality. From remotely receive collective information--through aerospace technology—it is of scientific belief that Mars once had rivers and lakes which opened up into oceans as those on Earth. At some distant period of time, Mars became void of water. As to the planet’s water, of which failed to evaporate into space, became ice. The particular Martian ice dwells beneath this planet’s surface (Croswell, 2003, 127-158;). To illustrate, within Figure One that was taken by NASA, it shows where experts believe there once existed a river. Of the part which is encircled, it is of scientific belief that such discovery was once to have been a river’s delta. Despite the fact that Mars does not present water anymore, this particular aspect will be later expressed in an ability to maintain life. The physical characteristics that Mars possesses and any other planet for such matter is dependent upon those planets’ range of environmental factors (Vogt, 2008, 25). A considered factor for an explanation towards this particular planet’s environmental composition is in its regard to be a demonstrative facsimile of two planets on one planet. One entire side of Mars has mountains that are located in the southern highlands. This planet’s same side also consists of craters and erosion. However, Mars’s other side is considered what is referred to as the northern lowland. The planet’s northern lowland area is described as to be broad with smooth series of interconnecting plains. Of these northern lowlands, more than ten percent of the area’s surface is covered by what are known as sand dunes. Each side of Mars, however, presents as if they are two equal hemispheres.
