Early Years Education is education for children from birth to five years of age. Since 2010 all children aged between 3 and 5 years of age have been entitled to 15 hours a week for no fewer than 38 weeks per year of free childcare. These hours can be at a childminderâ€TMs, a nursery school, pre-school or playgroup. In 2013 this age limit was reduced to help disadvantageous two year olds and since 2015 40% of two year olds have been entitled to the same amount of free childcare.
Each session of childcare must be less than 10 hours and more than 2.5, children mustnâ€TMt be left before 7:00am and must be collected before 7:00pm, usually it should be five hours three days a week, or three hours five days a week.
