Throughout this semester we have read about many different civilizations all unique in their own way, making them very fascinating to learn about. In the readings of the different civilizations I felt that Muslims, Native Americans and Greece’s civilizations and their decisions are made due to their different beliefs. In this essay, I argue that while the Muslim world and the early Native American’s civilizations are deeply rooted in religion, Greece is more political than religious.
In the Muslim world their lives revolve around their religion. They follow the Five Pillars; they are guidelines for Muslims so they are able to stay on a riotous path. True believers of the Muslim faith follow the five pillars which guide them to pray five times a day, fasting, share their wealth, make the journey to visit Mecca and, declaring their faith. Through out the five different worlds and different attempts on creating humans there were monkeys and dogs created along the four elements; earth, air, fire, and water along with the earth that provided everything that humans needed as long as there was a sacrifice given to the earth. They believe a torn apart monster created heaven and earth along with all the things humans need for survival. This legend was a combination of Aztec and Toltec legends. During the more modern period of the early native Americans parents put a combination of love and fear in their children’s hearts by making them fear doing something to dissatisfy their god. I think the parents an afraid that a natural disaster from the past will occur if their god is unpleased.
