Greetings,

The Early Middle College program is a great program to help students earn college credit and an associate degree while in high school. The program at Ottawa Hills is starting off good, but there are a few concerns: 1) CLS 100 Instructor, 2) A Few Students, and 3) Lack of Access to Wifi.

CLS 100 Instructor: The CLS 100 instructor Audrey Mayfield is having challenges with properly operating Blackboard, this is a delimma because there are expectations and deadlines to be met by the instructor, but the student access to the assignments and submission sections have not been available until closer to or after the assignments are due. This does not allow the students an adequate amount of time to complete their work. She has not properly

The three students are Brandon Harris, Michael Hawkins, .

Lack of Wifi Access: The lack of access of Wifi in the GRPS high schools prohibits my ability to utilize the internet to utilize blackboard, efficiently assist students to apply to GRCC or complete their interests document online. It also prohibits the ability to show educational videos, and other online resources to assist the students as they strive to successfully to complete their collegiate classes.

Pros: Some of the great things we were able to accomplish with the Early Middle College students thus far I gained positive relationships with the students and respect. We were able to secure a tutor for the students who will assist the students every Friday. We also were able to secure chrome books (laptops) for the E.M.C. students to get their work done effectively and efficiently. We've taken students on a GRCC campus tour and working on other near college tours in Michigan. We're heading in the right directions with providing the right guidance, support, resources, and exposure to the students to help them become

They really like to know what it is that you want and need to be successful. Paying for College (An Analysis of The Rising Cost of College and the Modern Methods Used to Combat it) “Life has become the future. Every moment of your life is lived for the future--you go to high school so you can go to college so you can get a good job so you can get a nice house so you can afford to send your kids to college so they can get a good job so they can get a nice house so they can afford to send their kids to college” (Green, 2008). A summer 's work at minimum wage use to easily pay for a whole year of college tuition. For a long time high schools have had sports teams and art programs and they started out with equal funding but over the years sports teams started receiving more funding while the arts clubs received less. Why do they give more funding to the sports teams, it might be that if you walk into a classroom there will likely be a lot of students talking about sports or athletes and only a few who are talking about a musical or art festival so, the school board might think that only a few students like the arts programs and everyone else like sports but, that's not true. There is a lot of pressure for boys to join the sports team because their father of brother want them to be just like them, so most boys will join the team and not actively participate so they are just wasting the schools money when it could be going to the art programs.…

College Is Not the Key to Success In College is a Waste of Time and Money by Caroline Bird she explains how college was a good place for a few kids that were drawn to their academic work, but now it is stupid for kids to go to college when all they are doing is wasting their time and money. Bird is right, the only reason they go to college is to make their parents happy not for the education part. She explains that young adults in college are sad, mostly because they are just thrown into the real world without knowing what is going to happen next. They do not know what is best for them so they think going to college will help them get a better job in the long run. Most teachers, engineers, and even nurses said they do not use what they…
