I agree with the statement “Literacy is a process that begins in infancy and continues throughout our lives”. Literacy is a skill that we are always working on to perfect it. Parents/caregivers play an important role in guiding a child to literacy. Its been known that parent involvement is the number one predictor of early literacy success and tied to later academic achievement. It’s important for parents to act as a reading role model for their children. A great tip is while parents read aloud to their children they should concentrate on the words located on the page, parents can do this by pointing to each word on the page. They can read the title of the book and ask their children to make predictions. Parents can use pictures in the story
