Early solutions to major depression is essential so that it doesn’t develop into a lifelong battle. There are various early interventions for major depression that can be effective in treating major depression before it has a profound negative effect on an individual’s physical, psychological and interpersonal functioning. An essential aspect of treating major depression is improving personal functioning. This fortunately is not as difficult as it would appear. Research shows that a combination of antidepressant medications and counseling-behavioral treatment is most effective. If there is only one choice of treatment for major depression (fortunately this is not usually the case) longer term medication is more effective in preventing
