EA is a fun adventurous three year old boy who enjoys playing and exploring new things. His mother experienced a normal pregnancy with no complications at birth. EA was born with a mild unilateral hearing loss. He was referred to an early intervention program by the state of California. At 3 months, EA began Early Intervention through Capistrano Unified school district. Ms. Jen, a special education teacher, would visit the child in-home once a month for an hour to work on his targeted milestones. At 8 months of age, Ms. Jen increased her visitations to once a week. Concerned with his expressive language, EA learned sign language to express basic commands. At 18 months, EA was evaluated by Ms. Krista, the school SLP, and it was determined that
