Early Germania
Germania was first established in 500 BC by the Celts. By 200 BC a large group of tribes called Teutons invaded and took over Germany. As civilization progressed, Germania began to develop a series of tribes; the Barvarins, Franks, Goths, and the Saxons, who lived very barbaric lifestyles. By 50 BC, the German tribes begun to have frequent battles with the Romans; after several battles, the Germans started to seize control over the German territory. Eventually Germania became an empire. Germania was full of lowland. Its territory extended from the Netherlands to western Russia. Also a part of its geography was its marshes and forest. The early Germanic people were considered roamers. They also were considered semi-nomadic which meant they sometimes settled and other times they became herders. Germanic people to lower part of the Danube were considered nomads. They were soon confronted by the romans which created conflict. The Romans used the Germans as slaves and bodyguards. Celts that live on the coast were sailors, traders, and fisherman. Celts that lived primarily inland were fisherman and miners. They did not have cities, but had manufacturing industries throughout the region. They had many different types of agricultural methods, were master miners, and were excellent craftsmen.
