On August 23,2017, I observe at Project Hope Early learning center locate in Harvey, Illinois. I observe in Ms. Neeland preschool classroom. In the classroom, there are about fifteen children on the roster but only about eleven attend every day. The demographic in the classroom are African American, Hispanic, and Caucasian there are seven girls and six boys. There are three students that I observe in Ms. Neeland classroom. The students in Ms. Neeland classroom are either four or five-year old. When I chose the children, I pick two children who were five-year old and one who was four-year-old then I pick one African American children, one Hispanic child, and one Caucasian child. I observe the children while they were in each area. The areas that I pay attention to the most was the block area, manipulative area, music, and the gross motors …show more content…
There are numerous activities I could do with children to support eye -hand coordination. I also can help with eye-hand coordination by catching and throwing a ball, grasping objects such as pencils and markers, and by scaffolding the children. Hand-eye coordination is one of the most important parts of the learning process. It helps your child track the movements of their hands with their eyes, which is essential for reading and decoding. Because your child also uses their visual system with hand-eye coordination, it can greatly impact their writing skills and handwriting as they use their eye to guide, direct and control their hand movements across the page as they write letters and words. Your child’s eyes send a message to the brain about a certain object or stimuli (pencil, ball, apple), which triggers signals to your child’s hands for a reaction to that object or stimuli (writing, throwing, eating) (Jean).I believe that anything dealing with your hands and eyes is a good way to support children with eye-hand
