At the Early College I did not have the opportunity to take part in a JROTC program because it was not offered, however, I did make an attempt to take the opportunities for growth available to me. My experience leading groups in Student Government Association drove me to become more organized and productive. As yearbook editor, I have to make sure spreads, captions and copies are completed and proofread by the deadline. In addition, it is up to me to plan meetings with the yearbook staff and coordinate meetings with representatives from Herff Jones, the yearbook publishing company. Taking on the position of yearbook editor has taught me to take initiative in making sure that tasks are successfully completed. Being part of the Early College gave me much freedom in choosing my educational path which led me to become more responsible and disciplined.
