I decided to become an Early college high school student, because I knew it would help a low-income, first-generation college student, English language learner, and Hispanic like me achieve a higher education.
One of the most valuable advantages of being and Early college high school student in my opinion would be the motivation and grand expectations you feel about wanting to achieve more. However, taking both college and high school courses requires a lot of dedication. You must learn to mature and challenge yourself always as a student. You must be able to manage well your time and deal with huge stress. This is because you don’t only worry about maintaining one good GPA but two. You have about ten classes each semester and must pass all classes with good grades to receive credit. There is no time to have fun like most normal high school students do because you are always studying for several subjects. You must learn how to say no to parties and fun. You are always focusing on your academics and don’t have time for extra curriculum activities. One of the major downfalls would be that your credits may not always transfer to universities out of state. However, I

Not only is it affordable but its small environment is ideal for a student like me. I will be able to get to know my professors and feel more conformable asking questions. As student who has some college experience, I feel that it won’t be difficult to adapt. Not to mention that as a student who wants to work in the health and medical field, UHD is great because it is located close to the medical center. I believe UHD would help me obtain great internship opportunities that would increase my professional experience. Overall, UHD has a tuition that is affordable, has convenient class schedules, excellent location and believe would help me develop new

Differential tuition may not seem like the best idea in the short run because of the extra expense. Two hundred dollars per semester can really add up, especially if students decide to stay at UWSP for an extra year. However, since UWSP has one of the lowest tuition costs in the state, this expense could be absorbed more easily than at other colleges. The proposal also implements a financial aid portion to assist students who cannot afford the extra tuition expenses. Students entering their Junior or Senior year may also feel like differential tuition may not be beneficial because most of these students are already more than halfway done with their college career -- they will not need extra advising assistance and have completed all of their bottleneck courses.…

The main reason why I think that HACC is the best choice for me is because of the cost. The rates per credit are around $250 and that is for in-state residents. The total cost for a commuter would be around $13,750 for a student who is full time, which means they are taking 12 credits per term (Stager). This price of $13,750 includes the price of books, supplies, food, and transportation and it is an average price for all HACC students (HACC.edu). I think that I could easily cut some of the cost by trying to buy my books online for a cheaper price or even eating at home to save a lot of money.…
