In early childhood trauma, the process of changing behavior requires the controlling conditions to be substituted by those that regulate human behavior. The children that have experienced traumatic events live in an environment that controls their emotional topography and changing the behavior that those children develop in response to the traumatic events requires the use of predictable lawful emotional topographies. The problems related to attachment develop as a result of conditioned verbal and motor responses and the complex incorporation of stimuli which can develop to learned habits and reinforced in multiple environments (Prather & Golden, 2009).
Under this theory, the best mode of treatment for trauma is rational cognitive-emotive
