I have gained experience from a voluntary placement in a nursery and I’m currently doing a voluntary placement in a local primary school, which I really enjoy. I learnt how teacher interactions can help with behaviour management. I was able to work with groups of children to help them carry out research about local men that were serving in world war one. I also took part in group reading sessions listening to children read and offering help and support with tricky words.
During my placement I was able to support and care for both children and their families, I like to be able to go the extra mile to make sure parents and children are happy with the level of care being provided. This is an important role in building healthy relationships with the patients and carers of children. I believe communication is key to caring relationships and a successful work place. I received good feedback from my placement about my communication skills, suggesting they were excellent, which is very important when working within a
