The first article I read was "Early Childhood Special Music Education" by Alice-Ann Darrow. The article talked about Part C of IDEA, explained its importance, and who runs it. It talks about helping children learn to do different things, learn different things, and how music helps the process. There are a lot of different songs to help children learn how to write their numbers or even help them remember how long to wash their hands. Music helps kids with disabilities learn to move and helps to promote every kid to move. It talks about how music helps kids learn and dance, but it can also help kids that are having problems with their emotions. Someone can teach a kid to play an instrument or sing to help them from screaming or starting a fight. Music can help kids become social and be able to perform in front of a crowd. They need to start early and keep practicing. It gives children that have disabilities the chance to interact and play with kids. This early interaction can help them not feel out of place or different. It also helps children with disabilities learn to be independent with songs that help them get a normal schedule and …show more content…
Simple things like a song to help a child learn to write their numbers or to tell them how long to wash their hands. There are also many things that I did not know or even think about till I read the paper. The fact that music can make a difference in a kid with emotional issues just by teaching him to sing instead of scream. Children with disabilities do not have to feel left out, because they too can sing and dance. This lets children interact without the child with a disability being left out or feeling different. It also teaches children to be independent. It can help them start and keep a schedule, like when a certain song plays it is time to brush their teeth and then a different song plays, and it is time to eat.
