Because of this increasing societal need of a college degree, more high school graduates are attending college in hopes of a job to follow after graduating. With more students attending college and less spots available to accommodate these students, this has led to a ripple effect of competiveness educational-wise. Parents are doing their best to provide their children with as many opportunities to make them “stand out” in hopes to better the chance of them getting into college, even going to drastic measures as starting when the child is first born using Baby Einstein, teaching them sign language before they can speak, and enrolling them in Early Head Start at three years old. For caregiver's influence, this research will specifically look at caregiver's English language ability, support, and distress while child care will include: ________. This research will measure the impact of the above concepts have on a child's academic success and ability success. This research will answer the following question: what is the impact that parental/caregiver influence and child care have on a child's school readiness and success.
