I was hired to take care of Evan McMullens 80 year old mother who was recovering from a fall in Capital Hill neighborhood . I was under the impression that the mother needed more help late in the evenings and early in the mornings with occasional nights here and there.Well that wasn't the case. Ms Mullen needed care through 4:30AM 99% of the time. She needed help getting to the bedside commode as well as getting back to bed, She needed help repositioning and getting her up, After working there for a week I reported to Evan letting him know of my observations and that the entire shift was an awake shift and that the rate we had negotiated was too low for his mothers level of care. Both Evan and I agreed to try another week of work with a $20

Within a day of the record low efficiencies a new shipping and receiving manager was hired. On his first day, Nick, the new manager, made his presence known by his open participation in illegal drug activities and overconsumption of alcohol. Nick furthered his conversations, by accusing me of partaking in the same activities as him. To eliminate any rash thoughts, he or anyone may have of me, I stopped my work, stood in the middle of the materials office and confidently replied “I would rather you compliment me on my work ethic, rather the extracurricular activities you assume I participate in.” Afterwards, I scheduled a meeting with Nick to discuss the parameters of our professional relationship and how his inappropriate stories made me…

Observation: Rise Program Physical Setting Rise is a beautiful facility. All of the windows looking into the classrooms and looking outside are my favorite because they provide light, openness, and a sense of connection throughout the whole building. The commons is also a great area. It is large and open for all of the kids to spread out and explore their surroundings, while engaging in gross motor activities, such as going down a slide, riding a tricycle, or jumping on a trampoline.…

My field work experience had started in the preschool and where I have done the majority of my observations thus far. In the preschool I was beginning to understand how the different of components of the preschool all had concepts of phycology through all aspects of the classroom. During my time I saw how Piaget’s stages of cognitive development, how students handled new information through various methods, and Vygotsky’s sociocultural perspective are incorporated through different sections of the classroom. The classroom was based that learning should not be a structured experience, but learning should be developed through play and exploration.…
