Early Childhood Educator Essay

Being a Childhood Educator, in the Headstart program, I am convinced that our young children need to be exposed to positive role models to become successful role maker in life. However, the role models could be a family member, a teacher, a friend or whoever has contact with the child during the growth and development stages. In my opinion, I believe what children learn could be an advantage or disadvantage to their future in our society. As Early Childhood Educators, we should make sure that the right standards are in place for children, such as providing them with an environment that is conductive to cultural diversity. First, we should foster children and families cultural such as teaching them their differences and similarities with respect. According to (Spark & A.B. C. I learned that defining yourself in terms of your identity is more difficult because it suggests defining yourself in relation to other people (Smidt, 2013). He explained how identities are like culture, are not simple or single, but complex and dynamic (p.). Throughout life our identities change as we develop and learn and come into knowledge of people whom we are surrounded by daily. On the other hand, people can influence our life, whether it is in a positive or negative way. As an educator, we should think about how children behave, they mimic others children or adults.
