I believe strongly each child is unique in its own way. Every single one of us comes from a vast number of varying cultures, ethnicities, socio-economic backgrounds, families and much more. The diverse circumstances of birth and the early years contribute to our uniqueness. I believe an educator needs first to recognize the differences, learn to understand and respect the richness of our differences and attributes that make each of us truly unique.

Each child should, I believe, be encouraged to understand he/she is an integral part of the environment. Children will experience the feeling of belonging better when there is continuity between the home and the learning environment. I think children will feel more secure and feel minimal discomfort if their particular cultures and families are positively represented in daily experiences in the "formal learning zone." Children learn much better if allowed exploring both in solo and group activities.

Furthermore I also belie that all children have the right to learn and their learning be abundant with experiences, knowledge and quality, as well as feeling a sense of belonging to their community and learning environment. These beliefs are important to my teaching and my philosophy of early childhood eduction.…

Homeschooled education versus Public education It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that public education in the United States is a serious problem that keeps getting worse. It’ no surprise that public school system in a decline and more parents doubt the effectiveness of public schools by switching their children to homeschooling. Advocates of traditional public school system claim that public school is a best place for a child to get knowledge, thrive and better prepare for adult life. Opponents of public schools suggest that every child is unique and try to stay away from government authoritarianism in education. It might be a rationale in both cases, but parents should have rights to educate their children at home because of better academic…

That impression, the positive impact and those memories have stayed with me each and every day; it is so rewarding to know that a teacher can have so much influence on a young child. This is one of the main reasons I have chosen a career in Inclusive Early Childhood Education. Being a teacher, I know that I too will be able to provide a young child with the same kind of positive influence. As a senior in high school I had the opportunity to participate in the Mentorship Program.…

A recent study on social and emotional risk and protective factors that predict early school problems or success found that "children who do not begin kindergarten socially and emotionally competent are often not successful in the early years of school—and can be plagued by behavioral, emotional, academic, and social development problems that follow them into adulthood (U.S Department of Health and Human Services). " Creating a positive social relationship is an important outcome of preschool, possibly more important is avoiding social isolation. Research shows that it is possible to predict as early as preschool the kind of children who will have social and academic problems, because they are already either overlooked or casted off by other children. To develop positive social relationships it is important to build relationships with parents so that children feel safe, secure, and comfortable with their teachers. Provide opportunities for children to work and play together.…

As an early childhood educator, I feel that it is my responsibility to provide the high quality learning environment for the young children to learn, acquire and develop social, emotional, academic and technological skills. The following paper contains my philosophy statement, which includes my values and professional knowledge in relation to children, teaching and learning in early childhood education. What I question is how much the outside influence of the environment affects the child. My question or concern is whether the aspect of social culture can also be detrimental to the child. I realize that we are a multi-cultural country, but at times I feel that we may be more accommodating to the cultural aspect of learning and not reinforcing the child’s ability as an individual. As the child continues to move through the developmental stages, they will become more social and modeling after their peers from different cultures. Respecting the culture of each child and family is important as the child develops and I also believe that encouraging the child to be an individual is just as…
