Early Childhood Education Personal Statement Essay

Brad Henry once said, “A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning.” I am currently a freshman studying to obtain a degree in Food Science and Nutrition at Clemson University. I became interested in this major because it is my desire to serve and help others. My brother was diagnosed in 1993 at the age of three with Celiac Disease, and his life has been affected by the foods he can and cannot eat. He has been on a Gluten Free diet for twenty-one years, and this diet is the key to a healthy lifestyle for him. As I grew up, I watched my mother research and prepare meals for my brother. I have always had an interest in food and health and had the desire to gain knowledge to help people improve their quality of life.
