Early Childhood Education: Kindergarten Early childhood education provides young children with the needed skills which he or she will use in first grade and forward. Preparing a child for school start from the moment the child is thought of. “The trajectory to school success starts as soon as children are conceived, and are influenced by genetics and environment” (Vitaro, 2014). How a child behaves and gains knowledge is based on the environment in which the child lives. “By preschool, we can predict which children will have behavior and learning problems in elementary school, based on their individual characteristics, their parents and the family dynamic” (Vitaro, 2014). Children can undergo academic problems based on different social, emotional, and cognitive environments. The goal of this is to prepare kindergarten students for the rigger curriculum to come.
Early Childhood Education: Tennessee The Tennessee Department of Education is supportive in preparing children. “The department works to prepare young children for lifelong learning by offering various initiatives at the preschool level” (Building a Foundation for Academic Success, n.d.).
