As an early childhood teacher there has been many factors that have led me to stay in the early childhood education field, when I was a VPK teacher I stayed because of the neighborhood. It was my neighborhood. A place where my children have studied and have made new friendships. I think one of the rewards as a neighborhood teacher was knowing that I was impacting the children in my own neighborhood. I was teaching in the community that I lived and I wanted my students to know that I cared about them and the neighborhood. It was always great to see the kids with their parents in the neighborhood store and for them to know that I was not only close by but I was their neighbor. The families understood that by me being a part of their community
