Vygotsky she said that private speech was just talking to oneself either out loud or in one’s mind is an important road to cognitive development. However, it is false; most kids learn a language after six years old. Although, early childhood is a sensitive period because young children are called "language sponges" because they soak up all the language they hear and come across. As you get older your vocabulary, your sentence length, your grammar, and the amount of questions you ask expands in all aspects. I personally think that the more adults speak to young children the more they learn and the more you have them speak out loud the more they will learn as well.
