Earliest Memory Research Paper

The earliest memory that I have is from when I was probably around two or three years old, although I am not exactly sure. When I was two my parents separated and then got divorced soon after. I can remember being at home with my mom and my bother at night and we were all getting ready to go out to the pool to go in the hot tub. My dad came back to the house to get something and my mom asked him if he wanted to go swimming with us and then they started fighting. My brother and I went into our room and we didn’t get to go swimming. I have very few memories from being in preschool so I am sure that this is my earliest memory. I think that this particular memory is just a reminder to me of the grace that God had on that time in my life. My brother is a couple years older than me and remembers a lot about when my parents got divorced but I don’t remember any of it. I am grateful that this is all that I remember from that time and that it is no longer a reflection on what my family dynamic looks like especially between my parents. I think that everyone has a different approach towards sharing embarrassing stories, some people enjoy it and others don’t. I would rather talk about anything else than an embarrassing moment with anyone. If I told a close friend or a parent I …show more content…
During our relationship it was much easier for me to ignore the things that were red flags or were problems than it was to address them and acknowledge that they were detrimental parts of our relationship. It was much more enjoyable to just live in the moment and enjoy the things that were exciting in the moment but were not lasting bonds that would keep us together. As I look back now at the relationship I do acknowledge that we were best friends and had so many good times together but seeing the bad parts of our relationship seems so much easier to spot then they did while we were still

Essentially, the research suggested that children suffer from Childhood amnesia and were in general not able to remember events that occurred before the age of seven due to the increase of new cells in the hippocampus called neurogenesis. This neurogenesis in the hippocampus created newer and more efficient networks that overwrite these old childhood memories. The early brain of a child is working, in that they are storing memories, but it is not as efficient as an adult brain is at storing memories. Therefore, the natural process of making their brains more mature and efficient overrides the old childhood memories and hence you get childhood amnesia. They also suggested that early memories that are remembered later in life are memories that…

I don’t get embarrassed a lot, but when I do it’s usually because of small things. Most of the time my embarrassment is caused by small things like saying something random and unnecessary when talking to someone. Generally I forget that I felt embarrassed right after the situation takes place so I can’t even remind myself of a specific event like that, but I can remember one time when I’ve got a little bit more embarrassed. One time I shut my keys on the other side of the door when going out of building that I live in.…

It took something really tragic to happen for you to find out that someone you loved had secrets. All of the things that you thought of that person is shattered into a million pieces and you’re left there trying to sort through them trying to choose the ones you want to hang on too and the ones that you would sweep up and throw away forever. The conversations that you have with those you love sometimes still leave unanswered answers to why someone that was supposed to take care of you decided that someone was more important than you. When one thinks of memory, they usually think of past events that happened or something that they had learned. Although one can recall certain memories, can they recall every single detail? This semester, we were asked to recall the events of a day that happened six weeks prior to the beginning of class. While some students could explain some details of what they had done that day, not all could be certain. Details may not seem to be that important when telling a story from a childhood experience or maybe the retelling of a joke, but what if a person was made to recall a memory that took place six weeks ago?…
