I'm proud to be an Eagle Scout. Anyone who knows me knows that. Being a Boy Scout had a huge impact on my life growing up and contributed to the person I am today. Looking back over the course of twelve years to when I first bridged over from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts I was a very different person. I was fairly timid and generally unsure of myself. Scouting changed that. It provided me an outlet where my ideas were valued and I was allowed to make mistakes. I did not succeed necessarily at everything I tried; it would sometimes result in overcooked food or a flooded tent. I would sometimes fail but also I would learn from it.
