My dilemma was which camp I should attend this summer. The choices were Boy Scout camp with my scout troop, or the CIT program at Camp Ockanickon. This was an excruciating decision, because I had a tremendous desire to attend both of these summer camps. But the weeks that they are in the summer overlap. This was an immense problem for the reason that they both offer things that are needed to help me later in life. The scout camp offers merit badges that I still need to become an Eagle Scout. Furthermore the CIT program would help me to get a summer job at that camp in the following years.

I have been going to this camp for the past ten years of my life, and this would be the next step in the process of working there. CIT stands for Counselor

But these reasons are pretty simple. I have 2 partials in my merit badges, one for cooking, and also one for citizenship in the nation. The only 2 badges left that I need to become an Eagle Scout are obtainable at this summer camp. I attend this camp that with the scout troop I am in every year to further advance my trial on becoming an Eagle Scout. In this scout camp, also called Camp Ockanickon, there is the opportunity to get up to 6 merit badges during the course of the week. Going to this camp would make becoming an eagle scout much easier, considering that there is a chance to get merit badges that may take longer to get outside of summer …show more content…
This decision was very tough because both of these camps provide extremely valuable life skills. Although this camp takes up more of the summer, I get together with some friends that I can normally only see once a year. But on the downside this means that the merit badges that I still need must be completed outside of the Boy Scout Camp. Even though this was a hard decision I know that it was the right

350 word limits Essay Question - Other than your Eagle Scout leadership service project, what service have you provided to your community during your high school years? During my high school years, I have primarily provided service through my participation in the Christiana Care VolunTeen program and through the various clubs that I lead. The Christiana Care VolunTeen program allows young adults to help serve at the hospital in various areas, often exposing teenagers to how a hospital operates. Specifically, I worked in the Outpatient Pharmacy, SurgiCenter, and Pathology/Histology Lab, assisting patients and doctors with their various needs and tasks.…

Camp is place unlike any other. It is a place that people’s wall begin to fall down and new relationships are formed. This is bound to happen when you drop 200 teenagers in the middle of the Smoky Mountains without any of their electronics. I was lucky enough to be chosen for the Project Serve team and got to see camp from a new perspective. I got to be a part of all of the behind the scenes work, but also daily interactions with all of the campers due to my job at camp.…

I would visit him there until my senior year of high school when my school workload became too much for me to see him on weekends. In the story the author Ryan Smith says, “So I bypassed my usual summer YMCA experience for a camp close to Baldwin village known as the jungle because of the rampant gang activity nearby”. This made me think about when I went to summer camp for the first time with the Boy Scouts.…

It was at the moment that Caesars army crossed Rubicon, which was forbidden since it meant immediate act of war against the Republic of Italy. Once crossed, Caesar had started a war with Italy. But today it generally means “the point of no return” meaning a choice or action that can never be reversed or fixed, it’s a choice that will stick with you for the rest of your life.…

I want to be in the Leader's In Training program because Camp Mendocino is teaching youth how to live a healthy life at a young age. This camp helps the upcoming youth live in reality instead of the virtual world and ties into my overall life goal of helping Americans understand what it means to live a healthy life physically and mentally. This is important to me because I have dealt with depression and how unhappy I was with myself as a person. From the negative experience I’ve had with depression I don't want any child or teen feel like they are unworthy of the life they are living. By working with Camp Mendocino I will be helping the youth understand how to have a healthy state of mind by encouraging campers to deal with negative feelings…

Most teenagers would probably tell you that the beginning of their adulthood was marked by having to do laundry for the first time, or being able to drive alone, or perhaps no longer sitting at the children's table at family events. But for me, it happened this past summer, when I made the very difficult decision that I would not return to Coleman Country Day Camp. To those who were not fortunate enough to have grown up at summer camp, this might not seem like such a big decision to make. But Coleman was my outlet, my second home for ten consecutive summers and spending those two months anywhere else seemed inconceivable to me.…

A dilemma that I faced, and still am facing is simply the decision about what I want to do with my life after my high school career. In my freshman year of high school my goal was simply to get through the year in one piece. I was forced to conform to my new environment and all the strict rules that came along with it. Along with that it was the sudden transition from being the "big dogs" as eighth graders at my middle school to being "fresh-meat" in my first year high school. With so much attention placed on me as a freshman like on the varsity basketball team, where I was constantly forced to prove my worth to the coach and the players, to stepping out of my comfort zone and performing in a mandatory play for the rest of the the school as…
