One accomplishment that sparked a period of growth and new understanding of myself was when I became a star scout in Boy Scouts. Before this time, I was not very motivated to becoming an Eagle Scout because only one percent of scouts become the pristijuce rank of Eagle Scout. Then one of my leaders came up to me and asked if I was planning on putting in the work it took to be an Eagle. I told him I did not know because I knew all the hard work and how I would have to persevere. In response, he told me I could do it if I tried. So, with a sudden burst of motivation, that night I went home and did some research on what I had to complete. I found I needed to finish six required merit badges, one and a half years of leadership, and a major project
