In 7th grade I joined the Boy Scouts after growing up camping with my friends and our fathers. When I first joined, my goal was to just enjoy camping and spending time with people who shared similar interests with me. I completed a few of the lower ranks with ease, prompting my Scoutmaster to suggest that I aim to become an Eagle Scout. It was a big challenge demanding numerous requirements, 21 merit badges, leadership positions, and a service project. It took me six years to complete, and I have learned many lessons throughout my experience. Not only did I learn camping skills, but I developed myself in the areas of leadership, communication, and service.
