The goal is clear and the stakes are high. Given the strengths of the characters and the plot, the script is worthy of strong consideration.
The script has a well-defined, three-act structure, and for the most part, the pace works well. There are good setups and payoffs (the gold ring, Jacaranda, and the Knight In Armor egg timer).

There’s a good twist when it’s revealed that Johan is the man that arrested her father. There’s solid tension that drives the second act with the threat of discovery about her true identity. There are many scenes that highlight this threat of discovery of her true name, especially the passbook scene. While a bit predictable that the passbook will be in the room, it’s still nicely structured.
The attempt by Macie to break her father out of the prison with her homemade bomb is an extremely well crafted sequence. The tension is solid, as the bomb fails. Making a bomb is also a very smart story choice.
What’s really nicely crafted is the relationship between Macie and Nikolaas. It’s believable and genuine. There are many solid scenes with them ranging from the meal scene in which Nikolaas challenges her, to the hunting scene, and to the scene in which Macie witnesses his father emotionally and physically abused him. They make a sweet connection with each other and have a solid relationship arc. On a small note, it does seem too convenient that Nikolaas finds the gun and the notebook that she buried. Consider the idea that someone is watching her (Nikolaas) to make this more convincing.
The third act has a powerful climax. The idea that Johan wasn’t killed in the explosion is nicely done. It’s a bit predictable that Nikolaas will return home and be in jeopardy, but it still works
