An example was that, every year, for DoSomething club, we would have a campaign called “Teens for Jeans” to help stop poverty and spread more awareness about it. It was one of the biggest fundraiser and to make it possible, had to contact the company Aeropostale, one of our local retailer, to discuss about the campaign and the process of bringing in the jeans for donation. We had to contact the school in order to make a morning announcement to the students and we also took the extra step by talking to the teachers and asking them for help. Through all our efforts we were able to collect over 600 pairs of jeans. Another instance would be over the summer, I was given the chance to be the volunteer coordinator at my local soup kitchen, Loaves and Fishes. Since there was a lot new volunteers over the summer, my responsibility was to show them around and assign them certain tasks. There were a lot of things that needed to be done and I had to make sure that not everyone was doing the same job. In general as a volunteer coordinator I had to ensure that everything runs smoothly from setting up the chairs and tables, to making the food and serving it to the
