East Jordan Middle High School has an issue with the amount of tardies and absences of students. The way to fix EJMHS’s issue is to rewind it’s ban on bags in classrooms, which would also help with other issues. East Jordan Middle High School must change their rule on bags in classrooms because of availability of bags, efficiency of time, and absence of threats. For one, bombs are not an issue here. In all the time of being a student at EJMHS, never have I ever been bombed nor been under lockdown for a bomb threat. No bomb threats means that there are no bombs in the school. In addition to the absence of bombs, there are no drugs. My entire group of friends, including me, have never been propositioned to buy drugs. If we have never been propositioned to buy drugs, chances are that drugs are not common in this area, because my group of friends consists of almost everyone in 10th grade. Emmitt Smith High School should Continue the Policy The National Center for Education Statistics states that 94% of schools have a zero-tolerance policy for weapons or firearms, and 87% for alcohol, while only 79% report mandatory suspensions or expulsions for violence or tobacco. These numbers are jaw dropping, because almost 100% of schools in the nation have a zero-tolerance a policy. It is important to note that the school board met on Dec. 14, to discuss the possibility of students wearing armbands at school. This meeting occurred two days before the Tinker children and Eckhardt wore their black armbands to school. The school board believed that since the students were wearing the armbands, in clear defiance of the recent addition to the dress code, many students would redirect their focus from their lessons and focus on the controversies surrounding the Vietnam War. This view believes that the students should follow the rules placed by the administration despite of the students’ rights and personal beliefs. This view reinforces the discipline on students by the administration.…

Even though the United States Constitution does not outright give American citizens the express right to privacy, many amendments contain the protection of certain privacies, more specifically the First, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Ninth, and Fourteenth Amendments. In the past few decades, privacy rights are often debated closely relating to technology as new methods of hacking,…
