The EHR implementation is a very comprehensive process that calls for a multidisciplinary approach. If the implementation process is not well managed, successful implementation of the EHR cannot be achieved. The physician leaders are imperative players in the EHR implementation process. They are critical stakeholders since they link the end users of the EHR who are the physicians and the implementing team. The success of the EHR implementation lies with the successful collaboration of the two parties, and this is only possible is the physician leaders work hand in hand with the other players (Igneri, 2011).
The role of the physician leaders is to champion what physicians would want to be implemented in the EHR. With the collaboration and participation of the physician leaders in the implementation process, the organization can easily implement the EHR without a challenge (Igneri, 2011). Additionally, they also play a big role in ensuring that the proposals that have been raised by physicians are taken into consideration in

The physicians need to be trained on the essential skills that they may need so that they can use the EHR without any challenges. In the absence of skills, the EHR implementation will be impacted to a big extent. When the physicians lack skills, they are going to pose a staff resistance to implement EHR because they feel threatened. However, if physicians are well trained, they will actively support the implementation. It will also be easy to maintain EHR in the physician desk. On the other hand, a right approach to healthcare process is also an important factor that can make the EHR implementation easy (Igneri, 2011). On the side of the revenue cycle, it is so significant to ensure that the revenue cycle is well understood to the physicians.
