A volunteer case study was conducted on ED. The information was gather through observation and a short interview the ED and his mother. The observation was possible because ED is the cousin of the interviewer. ED is a 15-year-old boy that attends a large private school. ED is finishing up his 9th grade year. He is the youngest child to his mother and father. He has one older brother who is 21 years old. His parents are still happily married. The older brother recently moved out for the first time. This white middle class family lives in a very small town in east Mississippi, but balances their time between Alabama and Mississippi. The local towns enjoy to watch ED mature as he is moving through puberty.

He also interacts with cyber friends through his online games. ED can be very shy when he does not know the people he is around. This came into play when he switched schools in the middle of the fall semester. ED had a hard time warming up to his new classmates and teammates. Playing on the basketball team had a huge part in ED feeling comfortable at his new school. Since he enrolled at a new school mid semester, ED had to take a few classes with 8th grade students when he was in the 9th grade. ED kept true to his self. He continued to be polite to everyone he meets which helped him make friends. He likes to have a small group of friends that he can really depend on. ED loves his family. He is a firm believer of family comes first. He fully embraces the southern mentality with his love of the outdoors. His favorite outdoors hobby is to go hog hunting with his family and friends. ED enjoys the hunting, but loves spending time in the outdoors with his family even more. ED has a strong Christian belief and believes in studying the bible. His new school opens him up to new cultures, which he enjoys learning. His acceptance of others allows him to acts questions to learn more. ED believes in following the rules and staying out of trouble. His family has set high expectation and ED strives to meet them every
