An aggressive plan was implemented regarding a decrease in staff a year before the EHR transition occurred, Clerical positions were transitioned to higher-level, more technical roles. (E.g. Medical record assistances are now scanning-related roles.) Transition required minimum training; existing staff were urged to take classes to build up the expertise set important to work with the new innovation. I learned that not everything in a paper file would be migrated into the EHR. Scanning and entering information on upcoming follow-up patients, working on returning patient records a few days prior to their appointment, scan the information for that patient so determination essential for their care.…

Economic negatives during Reagan’s 8 years, not already mentioned, should include the stock market crash of 1987, the US moving from being the world’s largest creditor to being the world’s largest debtor, and some government domestic programs being forced to face limited funding (Medicaid and Food Stamps, for example). But, in general, most economists stress that Reagan’s policies (especially his tax policies) encouraged economic growth and brought about the economic strength exhibited in the 1990s. Many economic decisions take longer than a few months to have a noticeable impact. Tax issues, frequently, don’t exhibit their full impact until well after the first year of compliance. Companies and individuals need time to adjust, acquire funds, and budget accordingly.…

Since its inception, the Vet Center has overcome hurdles, but ultimately, flourished in providing quality mental health services, military sexual trauma counseling, and bereavement services to family members who were killed during active duty (Blank, 2016). The National Defense Authorization Act of 2013 extended the eligibility for VA readjustment…

The Veterans Health Administration has a few areas where work processes can be improved or automated. One area that would be a good candidate for increased automation would be the appointment scheduling system. The VA has had many public issues with scheduling patient appointments, and we also have a very high patient appointment cancellation and no-show rate. An increasing number of veterans are comfortable using computers, so an online self-scheduling and cancellation program could be very beneficial in reducing the number of no-show appointments and allowing the VA to see a greater number of veterans through improved utilization of current providers and care spaces. A more automated system with increased patient involvement may also help…

There is significant research to support the assertion that possession of appropriate medical information can and has been a life-saving tool for providers. Additionally, the potential for significant cost savings is evident when medical history information is available (Ferneding, 2009). As of today I continue to be an EOP freshman who is the first from my family to attend college and the first to be on the right path of obtaining a bachelor’s degree. To be honest, I am proud to be an EOP student at CSUN not because they give me a small amount of money but because I like the idea of knowing that I am representing the impossible. As you know, people like me are not meant to go to college or even finish high school. Those basic assumptions are made based on our families’ social class or ethnicity. I know we all come from low income families that know nothing about college and who’s kids only grow up to learn that they must start working to help their families economically.…

Since 1787 it has been made evident that conflict between the state and national levels of government is unavoidable it that there will always be disagreements and no way of making everyone happy without contradiction. Throughout the history of the United States we have seen conflict between the two levels of government over federal aid to the states, devolution, federalism in the Supreme Court system, and overall relations. These are just a few of the factors behind the long running issues. Federal aid to the states has always been a major issue in that state governments look to the national government for aid in funding programs like the TEA or CHIP and are often turned down or underfunded. This leads to frustration and conflict between states…
