The first line that was very interesting was “Clearer and clearer the gale whistled loud” (line 24) the word gale means strong and powerful wind. This shows how nature and life can start off calm and clear and the idea that nothing is wrong but there will be stronger things that will be bigger than people. People cannot let something like that stop them from getting somewhere. Therefore, this shows how the earth can have an effect on nature and on human’s as well. Secondly, another use of personification used effectively in this poem is in the second stanza and it says “then a dragon of a cloud” (line 27) is also similar to the quote just stated above. It describes the dragon as the cloud and a dragon is a big fiery beast that is known for terrizing villages back long ago. This can connect to people because in similar ways they can also be very destructive to nature. This connects to the theme because even though humans can be destructive they are trying restore nature and the earth back to its full health. Therefore, the use of personification was used very effectively because it showed people can be a force to nature even when they don’t see anything …show more content…
In the very first stanza the speaker uses the words “green” (line 8) and “clean” (line 9). The colour green means nature and calmness and that connects to clean because green is usually very beautiful and tidy. This can connect to the theme because in beginning of life things can seem all tidy and clean but when time goes on, things will change and things will happen. The second end rhyme that was very impacting was the powerful words “drifting” (line 12) and the other powerful word “shifting” (line 18). These two powerful words can emphasize that you can rather drift away from a problem that is occurring or you can shift the problem and change it so the outcomes can be different in the way it is meant to be originally. The last example of end rhyme that was very meaningful were the words “trailing” (line 46) and “sailing (line 49) these two words are meaningful to the poem because you can rather be behind something as in trail behind something and always stay there or you can sail past other and make a difference to restore nature by humans. Finally, end rhyme shows the significant of nature has in life and how it need people to restore it before it is too late and eventually nothing will be left of
