Will Salas loses his mother in a catastrophic way in the beginning of the story. Although this devastates Will, it does not make him realize how the lower class is being taken advantage of. John does not really make a difference in the World State. He makes a couple attempts to impact a few people, but does not really succeed. Will on the other hand, impacts everyone time zone because once he gives money to the poor they basically rule themselves. The more of an impact someone has on society, a better hero they are. Therefore, Will Salas plays a better hero role than John The character of Will Salas shows dystopic traits in the way he reacts to certain situations throughout the story, and closely relates to John from “Brave New World”. When Will finds out that money is being distributed unfairly among the people, he decides to do something about it. This is a heroic trait, but the way he ponders why society is the way it is makes him a dystopic hero. Will strongly dislikes the way people are being controlled, he reacts in a risky way.
