There are some parents who provide equal justice between girls and boys in the household. In “Do We Treat Our Children Different?” written by Maria Bellos Fisher , mother of 2 boys and 3 girls says that double standards are just apart of a parent 's imagination when wondering if the correct parenting skills are being practiced. Parents often question themselves about the parenting skills they display . From going out with friends to doing house chores , sons and daughters is an undisputed war. Parents don 't want the daughters to be in danger and for the sons to be to “soft” . Fathers don 't want to watch the daughters grow up but can 't wait for the day their sons become men. There are many different causes of parental double standards . Rape and kidnapping is becoming very common in the U.S this contributes to why parents want to hold their daughters close to home and not let go . Men are built to handle certain situations and they often do handle themselves better than any female
