In 1906, Dennis Dynneson, who was only a teenager at the time, began his own farming and ranching career on the current farmstead in the Brorson community. He raised Hereford cattle along with wheat, flax, barley, oats and other small grains.
In 1961, Sherman Dynneson returned to farm and took over the operation with his wife Marlys. This is when our farm became known as Dynneson Ranch. Sherman continued farming the same crops that his father did, but transitioned the cattle herd to be primarily Charolais. They continued to grow and expand the operation.

Sherman and Marlys were very active at the state level through MSGA. Keith has organized and implemented a fundraiser for the All-American Beef Batallion along with being active for many years on the Chamber Board and serving as president of the Agriculture Board. Katelyn is currently a participant in the MSGA Leadership Series and serves on various committees and boards. The family has a long tradition of being active in Richland County 4-H. Sherman and Marlys were in the same 4-H club together, their children became 4-H members and their grandchildren became 4-H members. The entire family remains active in the program by serving as volunteer leaders and helping out whenever possible.
