Dying: A Short Story

John went to the Park Lane Hospital for the Dying because his mom, Linda, was not in a good condition. While John was in the hospital observing, he saw that soma was going to be distributed to all of the patients. John got furious with rage and anger because he doesn’t like soma, so he started throwing it out the windows.

II. Description of Activities

There is 162 Deltas divided into two groups of 84 red-headed females and 68 dark dolychocephalic male twins within the hospital.
A young Alpha carried out a black iron cash box full of Soma.
Everybody got in a line and one by one walked up to get a pill.
First two males walked up, then a female, then another male, then three females and so on.
People in the line started shoving so they could get their portion of soma faster.

The Deputy then threatened to stop the distribution of soma if people keep shoving and didn’t act with good behaviour.
The people in the line became still then the distribution of soma started up again.
A Khaki female stepped forward to get her pill and then the Savage John yelled “Stop!” multiple times until he got the attention of everybody.
John pushed his way to the table with the soma and all the Deltas stared at him with astonishment.
John yelled out, “ Don’t take that horrible stuff. It’s poison, it’s poison. Poison to the soul as well as body.”
The Deputy said, “ yes, but let me get on with my distribution, won’t you? There’s a good fellow. Just let me” while he patted John’s arm.
John then yelled out, “ Never. Throw it all away, that horrible poison. I come to bring you freedom.”
After John yelled these things the Deputy went over to the phone book to look up a number.
The deputy called Bernard Marx to tell him about John, and how he had gone
