The antimicrobial activity of the dyes synthesized was tested against Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Micrococcus leuteus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Dye 1 was the most potent against all the bacteria, with MIC value of 200lg/ml. Dyes 5,6 and 8 showed the least effective, despite all the dyes had some effect on growth.
