Dwight D Eisenhower, was the 34th president of the United States of America. He was also the president of Columbia University. Eisenhower was an avid painter when he was older. Eisenhower was the first president to ride in a helicopter, also while Eisenhower was president, he was in the hospital for two months. Eisenhower never saw active combat, and he spent 35 years in the military and served during both world wars.

There names are Milton S. Eisenhower, Edgar N. Eisenhower, and Earl D. Eisenhower. Edgar is the oldest brother, he was born on January 19, 1889 in Hope, Kansas. Earl is the third oldest, he was born on February first, 1998 in Abilene, Kansas. Milton is the youngest, he was born on September 15, 1899 in Abilene, Kansas. For elementary and middle school, Eisenhower went to Lincoln. He went there in 1896. After that, he attended Abilene High School. Eisenhower graduated Abilene High School in 1909. When he was all finished with High School he started working and when he got enough money he paid for his brother's college education. In 1911 Eisenhower attended a school called West Point Military Academy. While he was there he was more interested in sports, especially football. Eisenhower played football there, and he was the star. Everybody loved him. After a long time he had lots of knee injuries, so he had to stop …show more content…
In 1921, Eisenhower's first born son, Doud died. He died from scarlet fever at the age of three. After that in 1922, Mamie gave birth to her second child, John Sheldon Doud. The same year Eisenhower rolled executive officer to General Fox Conner in the Panama Canal Zone. In 1924, at Conner's, Eisenhower applied to the Army's prestigious graduate school. Eisenhower graduated his first class of 245 in 1926, with a reputation for his military prowess. From 1927 to 1929, Eisenhower reported the war department under General John Pershing. After Eisenhower finished his tour in 1928, he was appointed chief military aide under General Douglas MacArthur. From 1935 to 1939, Eisenhower served under MacArthur as an assistant military advisor to the Philippines. In 1940, Eisenhower returned to the United
