Durango The Dragon: A Short Story

I grew up being in and out of homeschooling, which created isolation from people. Although I did not mind it since I was an introvert, so I've never genuinely gotten to connect with people. That feeling of disconnection made me feel all alone in the world, even with the group of fake friends I had. During middle school, I started writing short stories as a way to reflect and express my inner self. One of my first stories was, “Durango the Dragon”. It told the story of a baby dragon that was on the brink of death. As time passed a little girl stopped by and rescued him. She protected him with her life and he returned the favor when he grew up. It revolved around the hardships and the relationship with my bearded-dragon. Even though the stories might have been atrociously written, it was a way to create …show more content…
It allows me to express my personality so that I can show parts of my personality that people can't see. Although, it causes major issues with my relationship with people because I couldn't express my emotions to my friends and family, they often took it as insensitive or irrational. I had to work around and change how I act in front of people. Yet when I was alone, I felt like I connected with the world through a pen and paper. Often I would write whatever crosses my mind which there would be an endless supply of thoughts. Looking back on my life, I can utilize my writing to help people who are going through similar experiences to help them find their purpose in life. I want to encourage people to explore ideas and see the world from a different perspective. I want them to experience the activities they may not like because who knows if it'll end up being their purpose in life as well. I know it might not work for everyone, but periodically you look for something that doesn't fit you. That's what I did, until I looked through a different perspective on
