Imagine a scenario where DuPont used these scientists to identify the root cause of the poison and come up with solutions, this is an approach that would have been taken under Pentad. This could have saved many lives, time and money. This land was to act as a dumping site for all its chemical waste. They lied to the owners of the land that the waste would not become harmful to them since it did not consist of chemicals. Later after they started to dump waste the effects became more visible. The villagers were affected both socially and economically. Livestock, which were exposed to this chemical, started dying abruptly. People including children started to develop breathing complications that eventually led to asthma. When the root cause of this entire problem was identified to be the chemicals dumped by the DuPont Company they neglected to compensate those affected.
At this point water was also contaminated. Some tests were carried out and this was found to be true, DuPont on the other hand sent its scientists with the intention of fabricating the results. At this point most people in the community were not happy since now they came to the realization that indeed they have been poisoned by the company they trusted the most.
