As the world is estimated to nearly double to nine billion people by the year 2050, farmers will need to increase their efforts to continue to feed the world. Several challenges already plague famers like being careful with the use of water, plant diseases, available land and insect and pest control. Also, organic farmers are held under strict laws and new rules are created each year to ensure the product is extremely organic. DuPont Crop Protection hired Exponent Public Relations to help with local production issues and to raise sales. Also, Exponent Public Relations was tasked with connecting the public with local famers. As the market is severely competitive, DuPont must utilize the local knowledge to increase sales. Currently, there are two strategies in place to resolve the problem. The first strategy is to show the media how DuPoint brings specialized solutions to farmers. By using this strategy, they are reaching out to the local media, providing exclusive feature stories, showcasing DuPont professionals at trade shows and assisting farmers through radio about weather and …show more content…
Also, they understand the influence of the agriculture industry, so they market to consultants, seed salespeople, researchers and applicators. Speciality farmers are targeted by DuPont too. Specifically, DuPont targets those audiences, because they either grow the crops or have influence on the farmers.
