Dunnkirk Music Observation

For this concert report, I attended the Cash Cash concert at Dunnkirk. This was on a Tuesday night and it was very packed. Luckily, I got there early and was able to stand in the very front row, so I had a great view and could hear great. Before Cash Cash performed, ad DJ Matt Molewyk performed. I would say that this was the starting indicator. While he started to play, people starting trickling in because they knew that Cash Cash would start playing soon. When Cash Cash came on, the audience started jumping up and down and screaming. Tritonal also played at the concert, but played after Cash Cash, so I left after Cash Cash played. I chose to focus just on Cash Cash’s music because I was there specifically for them. I would say that …show more content…
Also, people could stand on the balconies on the top and watch the concert, which was interesting. Most of the audience seemed to be college students who knew the Cash Cash songs already, just as I did. Cash Cash is a group of DJs, so the three guys stood at the front of the stage and one of them did the music on the computer, while one of them did the music on the DJ board. It seemed like they were making the music as they were going along because they were listening to their headphones and planning the music on the computer and DJ board. The other one seemed to be the entertainer, so he walked around the stage and even came into the crowd. All three of the guys were white men about 20 or 30 and dressed in all black. They set up the stage in a very unique way because they had large black things on both sides and during the concert, they stuffed them with white confetti and the confetti blew throughout the room with the force of air. This was very neat to see since I was in the front and it added a lot more to the concert. Also, there were bright neon lights flashing throughout the concert, as shown in the video

As stated before, my group and I were actually approached by one of the band 's members due to the fact that he noticed our papers. Also, in the middle of the session the band actually allowed an audience guy to join them as a vocalist. I am assuming the guy who joined them was known by the band 's vocalist since he invited him up to take his position and he actually did an amazing job. Furthermore, I also want to mention that I really enjoyed the fact that the song that the guy from the audience sang was a Spanish song.…

For this report I chose to attend a show that featured the Plain White T’s. I chose this event because I wanted to see what was the difference between a local band and a band that is “popular”. The cool thing about this concert was that The Plain White T’s weren’t touring alone they also came with Beta Play and Matt McAndrew. I’ve never been a big fan of rock but as I researched more about the genre and all of its subgenres I discovered Alternative Rock.…

This concert was performed at the Memorial Union theatre. The stage was set with 3 small sections of seating that could fit around 200 people. The seats were arranged in a way that created an atmosphere that felt much like an amphitheater. The stage is set with 3 small sections of instruments that all face the audience. One section is the Conga drums, the second is the piano and cello, and the last section is the drum set.…

The second Musician I want to talk about would be Michael Lington during the live Jazz Concert. Michael Lington is the Sax player. He is a Danish- American contemporary Saxophonist , producer, songwriter, recording artist and a purveyor of soul and contemporary Jazz. I personally love the way how the concert went, even though I’m not in the actual performance, but I still felt how excited the audiences was during the concert. During the Concert the music was played very soft and it did not have anything like the big band or African influence kind of characteristics.…

All three were female-fronted punk rock bands, but The Sweethearts were the only band that was local. The other two were on tour with each other. All three of the bands knew each other and have played together at other venues frequently.…

Walking into the auditorium, I immediately noticed that the atmosphere of the concert was completely different from that of the classical concert I attended weeks earlier. To begin with, it seemed like there was much more of an audience. Everyone seemed excited for the concert to start. As for myself, I was also excited because, on the very front of the program, it said that there was a guest artist that was going to perform with the ensemble. The performers wore more of a business casual look, some were a little more dressed up than others, but overall they looked very well dressed.…
