The Chinese New Year is at the beginning of each new year, from February to March; at this time my family get together for the New Years. Several days before the New Year, people begin to prepare. Farmers slaughter pigs, sheep, cocks and hens. City dwellers buy meat, fish and vegetables. Houses need to be cleaned, and couplets are posted on the door. Colorful lanterns are hung at the gate. On the eve of the New Years, people needs to make food. So I make dumplings for my family, and the process is difficult. Because I had never made dumplings before, I watched my family members, trying to learn how to make them, First, I need to chop the meat into tiny pieces and mash it, then I want to add ginger, oil, soy sauce, scallions, salt, and cabbage. After those, I need to mix those seasoning and meat together. Finally, you should hold the pancake with your palm and put the filling in the center and wrap it into half-circle shape and seal the edges. Also there is an important thing need to do in this period. That is we usually put coins into some dumplings. The person who eats the dumpling with a coin in it will get the best wishes for the next year. After we …show more content…
My uncle Living in suburbs, and it is a beautiful place. My father and mother talk with my uncle. I need to pay a New Year call with my uncle, I usually just say "good health", "good luck" and "long-lasting happiness" to him. Then my uncle usually just let me go play with his child, so I would just go play with my cousin. We climbed the mountain up the steep path. I was tired when we reached the top of mountain. We were thirsty and hungry, and this was best time to sit down and have a good picnic. I took out delicious foods and drinks to share with them. The picnic gave us good chance to relax. I sang for my cousin and she danced for us. Certainly I also took many picture. I enjoyed the family tie and had a good time on that
